About Erin

Hi, my name is Erin and I am a yoga alliance registered yoga teacher based in York, UK.

My yoga journey started a few years ago when I was working a stressful job as a chef and wanted to find a way to relax and help myself see life in a more positive light! I went to an Ashtanga yoga class not knowing what to expect and I was hooked! This newfound mental clarity and enthusiasm led me to quit the stressful chef job and pursue a qualification in nutritional therapy.

Eventually, I switched to vinyasa flow and yin yoga classes, as I preferred the variety, and the creativity that the teachers could express when planning these classes.

My love for yoga led me to embark on a trip to Sedona, which is coined as the spiritual capital of the United States, where I first experienced Kundalini yoga with teachers Hari Jap and Sraddhasagar. It was on this life changing trip that I fell in love with the more spiritual parts of yoga, such as chanting and kirtan, and I realised on this trip that someday I would be a teacher myself. 

On my return to the UK, I started practicing nearly every day and yoga became a way of life for me.

In July 2018, I set off to Suryalila retreat centre in Andalusia, Spain, to start my yoga teacher training with Frog Lotus Yoga. Here I spent 200 hours studying vinyasa flow yoga, with incredible teachers Vidya Jacqueline Heisel, Jennilee Toner, and Lisa Dunn. I learned how we can extend our love of yoga to all aspects of our life, practicing kindness and gratitude every day. 

I can teach classes in either vinyasa flow, slow flow, gentle yoga or restorative. I like to make sure that my students feel welcomed no matter what level they are, which is why I offer different level options in all my classes. I also use physical assists in my classes to help my students get the most out of their practice and improve their alignment. Private classes with me are a personalised, deeply relaxing experience, with a focus on the students needs and goals.

Classes at Well-being in York

Starting 4th June: New class 6.30-7.45pm

Do you love your job but take ages to wind down after work? I can help you! On Tuesday evenings from the 4th June onward I am running an all levels yoga flow at Well-being in York. Perfect for anyone, from beginners to seasoned yogis, you will be led through a creative yoga flow with different level options to ensure everyone has a great time! We start with relaxation and breath-work to get you in the zone. Then we move through a warm up of all the major muscles. The warm up is followed by a flow sequence to challenge you and build heat in the body. We try a few fun playful poses, then start to cool the body down, preparing for the deep relaxation at the end. Come and find a little oasis of calm after your busy day, and your body and mind will thank you!

Well-being in York is located in the Raylor centre on James street. Parking is available nearby at the Morrison's car park, or it is within walking distance of bus routes.

All public classes are £8 drop in or you can buy a class pass for £35 which gives you 5 classes at £7 each.

Why take a private class? Perhaps you're new to yoga and would like a tailor made beginners 1 on 1 course in the comfort of your own home. Perhaps you're a seasoned yogi who would like to deepen your practice and receive individual attention in some more challenging poses. Or maybe you're recovering from illness or an injury and need a class that works around your abilities and helps strengthen in a gentle way. The amazing thing about 1 on 1 work is that the focus is completely on you. So whatever your ability or goals, and whichever style of yoga you would like to practice, book a private class today and enjoy 75 minutes of yoga in the comfort of your home!

Private classes cost £45 for 75 minutes. They will be held in your home for your convenience*
